Affirmation cards

I wanted to make a freestyle back ground so I went for it:

It was fun but I decided that the paper was too thin so I made another one:
Then I glued the two pieces together. Once everything was dry I cut the paper into 2X3 cards. Then I cut words from books and magazines and used them to put affirmations on my 2X3 cards. Once complete I covered each card with a heavy coat of white glue.

Then I used a pink sharpie around the edges and I used a hole punch in the corner. I put the cards on a ring and put them in my purse. I try to spend about 5 minutes a day with my cards.

Summer painting!

Been to the beach a good bit this summer and I have thoroughly enjoyed it! My daughter has been home and that has been wonderful!

June on the Marietta Square

Today was a hot day at the Marietta Square Artist Market! Besides the artists' markets I do I have opened a private practice using primarily art to help others heal. I am an LPC and will finish my art therapy degree this summer! What's going on with you this summer?

Why do I paint?

This weekend was the first Marietta square market and as always I had loads of fun! But I did think about what to do to increase my sales and I think I am going to have to force myself to be friendly and speak to all who come by my booth. I personally don't care for pushy sales people and typically don't like it when I go in a store and the sales person starts talking to me. I prefer to just get in and get what I need and get out but I am not sure that is a good way to sell art at art shows. I do like to be friendly and I appreciate my customers tremendously and love to talk with them it is just that I don't want people to feel pressured. Ok, so my current approach is not the best for art shows so I am going to try being more friendly and talk to the lookers that come by about why I paint...this caused me to have to think about how to explain what I do so here goes and PLEASE give me feedback!


I paint because I absolutely LOVE to paint. I truly believe that we all need to be joyful to reach all of our life goals so I want to use my painting to pass on to others a bit a joy. Thus I paint happy things, a lot of flowers and I use bring colors and I like to use words in my paintings. I also believe that to create joy we can start with gratitude so a lot of my paintings deal with thankfulness and if I can encourage gratitude I may be able to encourage joy then I have been helpful to others! I do believe everything I said but I feel like it is mushy and not sure that others want to here this...what do you think?
